Ok this would be a good place for me to admit I have been recommended (WITH MY HUSBAND’S PERMISSION) to be on what not to wear! That being said, I no longer wear his clothes and am finding who I am.
The story of a REALLY BAD DRESS…and a REALLY GREAT outcome!
So here goes nothing. I suck at dressing myself. I really do. No seriously it has been comical.
When I got out of the military, women were dressing like Marsha Brady (’99) and I was NOT going to partake in that nonsense. No way, no how. This being said, I eventually got a professional position and was working on dressing better. My improvement went from dressing in my husband’s clothing, to dressing like a woman, a woman in her 60s or 70s. Not that there is anything wrong with how those ladies dress, just probably not best for a woman in her late 20s. This led to my husband giving his permission for me to be submitted for “What Not to Wear.” I love him, I really, really do!
So fast-forward, I now know who I am and what I want to look like. I am browsing online and see on Nordstrom.com something about a free personal stylist (insert Minion’s screaming WHAAAAAAA)! Ummmm SIGN ME UP! Free? Someone who does this for a living to help me? YES!
So pretty quickly, I am put with this great lady named Nadia. She put me in some bad clothes. I mean B.A.D. So bad that I sent a photo of me saying “I FOUND IT, THE ONE, THE DRESS” to Nadia’s horror.
To be fair, she also found some pretty great finds. My butt fit in to an Herve Leger Dress. UMMM WHAAAAAAA? I will post a photo when I buy it.But in the mean while, she helped me into 3 jeans, 3 tops, a coat at 50 freaking % off! And a very cute pair of shoes. So I would recommend doing this, even if you are fantastic at dressing yourself. They just bring you clothes, and accessories and shoes, and, and, and you get my point.
I need to learn how to pose for a photo!
